Ladies’ Association News

After two years of rainouts, the closing day scramble was played on October 1 under warm sunny skies.

Teams were formed by integrating the 18-hole and 9-hole players.

The team of Enis Cassill, Carolyn Morford, Barbara Sloan and Pat Warren won with a net 69. Two teams tied at net 70. After a card playoff, Darlene Elliott, Robin Guinta, Hollis Hall, and Usha Singh placed second. Coming in third was the team of Mary Lu Lovette, Suzanne Lynch, Karen Murphy, and JoAn Treskovich. Proximities were set up for 18-hole and 9-hole players. Winners were Karen Murphy, Usha Singh, JoAn Treskovich (closest to the pin) and Mary Ann McGinnis, Barbara Sloan, Mary Lu Lovette and Dottie Lynch (longest drive).

An antique home themed dinner, planned by Darlene Elliott, was enjoyed by all. A brief business meeting was held at the end of the evening.   The slate of officers announced  for the 2020 season are Darlene Elliott, President, Melane Baraniak and JoAn Treskovich as co-chair Vice-Presidents, Carolyn Morford, Treasurer, and Barbara Sloan, Golf Chair and Secretary. It was agreed that pushing the start of the season forward by two weeks and adding two weeks on to the end of the season was a positive change in 2019 and should be repeated next year.  Melane Baraniak raised the issue of making a contribution to the green restoration fund. A decision on this was delayed to next year pending a review of the Association’s financial situation.

Thanks to all the event organizers that contributed to a great golf season for all of us.
