LGA News September 2019
Ladies' Association News
Congratulations to our new “Queen Bee” Gayle Smith who bested the field over the two-day ringer event. Barb Sloan was the 9-hole “Lady Bug” champion.
The annual Ladies’ Classic was contested on August 20, re-scheduled from the 13th due to inclement weather. Becky DeMuth (Low Net) and Melane Baraniak (2nd low net) took top honors. In the 9-hole division, Sheryl Hershock locked up low net, Usha Singh took low gross and Suzanne Lynch had the fewest putts. Proximity winners included: Hollis Hall (long drive), Darlene Elliott (closest to the pin), Robin Giunta (long putt), JoAn Treskovich (closest to the pin), Enis Cassill (long drive) and Melane Baraniak (long putt). A wonderful picnic-themed meal, planned by Melane Baraniak, was enjoyed by all on the originally scheduled date.
The calendar might read September but don’t put away those clubs! There is a full schedule of activities for the month but remember that league play moves to 10:00 am! Please assemble near the pro shop at 9:30 for announcements and tee assignments.
The closing day scramble and dinner will be on October 1 with a 1:00 shotgun start. A brief business meeting, presentation of awards and election of officers for 2020 are on the agenda.
