Ladies' Golf News ~ July 2020
Our season finally started on June 2 with the Closest to the Pin Forever game. The player managing to get the ball closest to the pin from off the green received a point.
- 1st Place: Cindy Soccio 8 points
- 2nd Place: Karen Hough 7 points
- 3rd Place tie: Kare Thompson and Darlene Elliott 6 points
- 9-hole winner: Marcie Larson 4 points
On June 16, we played beat the pro. It was an opportunity for us to spend time with and get better acquainted with our new pro, Sean Knaus. Sean played from the red tees with a plus 4 handicap. Sean shot a 76 for a net 80. Those who beat the pro were:
- 1st Place: Pat Warren net 72
- 2nd Place tie: Carolyn Morford and Gayle Smith net 73
Sean’s back hole nine score was 38
- 9-hole winner: Dottie Lynch net 29
Aces Wild was the game on June 16. Players subtracted one stroke from their net score for each one putt.
- 1st Place: Carolyn Morford net 63
- 2nd Place: Cindy Bode net 65
- 3rd Place: Gayle Smith net 66
- 9-hole winner: Suzanne Lynch net 38
The annual King & Queens event was held on June 23. We had a great participation, with 21 queens and 7 kings. Many thanks to Pat Warren for all her efforts organizing a fun day.
The winning team was Ed Elliott, Karen Hough, Pat Warren, and Carol Onufro with a net 125.
Skill prizes were captured by:

- Longest putt hole #8: Jim Votek 14’5”
- Closest to the hole #11: Gayle Smith 4’6”
- Longest putt hole #15: Chuck Suprock 23’4”
Upcoming on July 28 is Friend’s Day. It is a fun day with no competition or prizes. Just a chance to share a game of golf and lunch with a friend. Sign-up sheet will be in the pro shop. The event will be hosted by Betty Rosa and Karen Thompson.
