Ladies Golf News ~ April 2020

To paraphrase Robert Burns, the best-laid plans of mice and women often go awry.

In February the Executive Board met with Bill Elliott, Bobbie Jo Farrell, and Sean Knaus to plan our calendar of events. Karen Hough worked on getting our information booklet ready. Barbara Sloan had a separate meeting with Sean to organize special games for the 9-holers. Darlene Elliott and Melane Baraniak devoted several days to improving the ambience of our locker room. JoAn Treskovich and Melane made plans for our opening dinner; stay tuned for the date.

All that planning and work has been washed away by the tsunami of the pandemic.

When the club house and course will reopen is an unknown. The Executive Board set the dues for 2020 at $65.00.  This was to cover the costs of our weekly Tuesday play, special events such as King & Queens, Friends Day, the Queen Bee and Lady Bug, and the Classic, and opening and closing day. The decision on dues is now under review until we know how many events will be played.

There are plans to encourage other lady club members to join us in enjoying the comradery of golf activities for women at LCC.  That invitation is still open when we resume play.

We can only hope that the situation will change sooner than later.  Meanwhile, stay safe and keep in contact with your friends.
