Ladies' Golf News ~ March 2020

The Ladies’ Golf Association is holding the season opening dinner on Tuesday, April 28 starting with cocktails at 5:30 p.m. We would invite all the lady members of the club to join us for a meet and greet. Reservations can be made by calling the Grill Room.ladies opening dinner

The new World Wide Handicap system is bringing many changes affecting play and scoring. Sean Knaus, our Pro, will be giving a presentation on the new system.  In addition, he will have a trunk show with new merchandise from B-Skinz skorts on display. There will be a 20% discount on purchases that night.

Opening play will start on Tuesday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. with a scramble. No handicap is required, and we would encourage non-members to join in this fun event. Just call the Pro Shop to sign up.

We are excited about the changes for ladies’ play this year. The forward/orange tees now have a slope and course rating which means that you don’t have to play from the red tees on Ladies’ Tuesdays or any other day. We also have an active group of 9-hole players that has found golf to be fun again from the forward tees. Information about other golfing opportunities, such as weekend play, will be available at the dinner.

The Ligonier Country Club Ladies Golf Association (LCCLGA) is a not-for-profit organization formed to promote and foster the true spirit of the game of golf, and to create and maintain interest in the club and golf activities for women.

It is the intention of the Association to encourage a friendly environment for members, regardless of level of play.  LCCLGA offers both a Tuesday 18-hole and 9-hole calendar of golf events for those who golf from May to September.

Lunch is encouraged following golf to share a few laughs and a few golf tales with your fellow Association members!

If you are interested in joining or learning more about the Ladies’ Golf Association, please feel free to contact one of the Board Members: Darlene Elliott, Melane Baraniak, JoAn Treskovich, Carolyn Morford or Barbara Sloan.
